Home FAQ

How does QCM differ from other powder metal manufacturers?

QCM strives for continuous improvements that specialize in the sintered metal processes. With state of the art equipment and JIT manufacturing, our overhead and quick lead times keep us competitive.

Why should I be interested in Sintered Metals?

SIntered Metals have the material strength to meet all customer requirements.  Depending on the applications we can match physical properties of the material.  If strength is required, we modify the iron with carbon, nickel, copper, or other prealloy.  If your product requires good wear, we can add carbon or nickel.  If you need ductility we reduce carbon and add copper to increase strength.  There is endless options in material.  We can make a unique blend of material to match your needs.

In general, what is the tooling cost?

On an average our tooling cost is very competitve at about $7,500.00.  Tooling is purchased up front, and there after QCM maintains the maintenance on the tools, and replaces them as needed.  We design and build the tooling to assure complete qulaity control.
